20131005-IMG_6254Every time my mom comes to town, we always have to make a stop at Heath Ceramics so she can add another plate or bowl to her collection. I love Heath too, don't get me wrong, but my favorite things there tend to be the collections from other designers that they sell there. So while Mom plays around with different pottery color combos, I snack on Crack Caramels (danger!) and peruse the maple cutting/serving boards and luxe linens (I've been lusting after the Matteo napkins for years now), but I usually walk out without much more than a Weck jar for myself. However, on our last trip there I noticed something in the corner that I hadn't noticed before - a display of necklaces by Iacoli & McAllister, a design team known more for their awesome geometric light fixtures and cool furniture. At first, I didn't think they were for me - maybe a little too quirky. But once I found my ideal color combo (black, white, and gold of course), I made the purchase and have never looked back. In fact, I've been wearing it nonstop ever since and plan to go back for more. It adds a modern minimalism to my wardrobe that now I realize was much needed. I guess sometimes you just need to try something different and unexpected, and it might just open your eyes to a new angle of your style that you never knew was there.
