Style in the Dawn of May
With May Day coming up this Saturday, I suppose I can't not share my favorite memory of this fine spring holiday, which directly involves the above passage. After coming across it in a cute little coffee table book some time during our high school years, my girlfriends and I decided that we had to find out if the legend was true. So, on April 30th, we all gathered for a sleepover in our friend's basement out in the country near our hometown of Northfield, MN. It was a school night, so we all had to request special permission from our parents who in retrospect were all quite understanding of our odd activities. We hardly slept at all and around 5am, clad in nothing but our terry cloth robes, we piled into the van and drove out to the most secluded area of the countryside we could find. The sun was just coming up over the field, and the misty atmosphere was truly whimsical. We all frolicked in different directions, dropped our robes, and rolled in the wet grass, giggling with adrenaline and disbelief that we actually did it. Then with our newly solidified lifelong beauty, we went to school.

If you have access to a private patch of lawn, I highly recommend you complete this task on Saturday morning. When it comes to eternal beauty, you're better safe than sorry. If you accept this mission, here are some ideas for your pre and post dew rolling style...

I love everything about May Day - playfully leaving baskets of flowers and treats on your friends' doorsteps (if someone catches you running away you are supposed to get a kiss!), and frolicking around the maypole wearing crowns of fresh spring flowers. So even if this isn't your year for nude shenanigans, you can still celebrate May Day in style. All you need are florals, pastels, whimsy, and a carefree love of life in the spring!

No matter what you're doing to ring in the beginning of May this weekend, definitely take a moment to breathe in the spring air, get some fresh flowers, and enjoy basking in your girly side - naked or clothed!{}
