Accessories for the 5 Elements

I have been getting some requests for more Fashion Feng Shui tips, which is music to my ears! I'm so glad that you guys have been finding it interesting as it's something I whole heartedly believe in (if you don't know what I'm talking about, check out all the previous posts on the subject here). I've had a lot of ideas floating around in my head and couldn't quite decide where to start. But obviously I love nothing more than talking about the five elements, and there's a never ending amount of info to share. So today I thought it would be fun to focus on one must have accessory for each essence. These are pieces you could add if you know which element is your essence and you'll probably reach for them a lot. On the contrary, you can also add any one of these things to your wardrobe to incorporate that element as an intention.

WOOD // BASEBALL CAP

I love this accessory to bring wood energy to any outfit. It's not something that everyone has, but if you're a wood it's a perfect way to show off your go-getter energy. I especially love the blank Flexfit hats they sell at Lids which are fitted yet elastic so they're comfy and wont smash your hair down too much. White, black, or navy will bring a sporty yet not too casual look to any outfit. Love!

WATER // FRINGE BAG

Or fringe anything. It's such a cool way to add some flow to your outfit. Leather fringe has some fiery vibes too because of the leather, but in black or another dark tone, it has the perfect boho, moody edge that works so well for water. Plus it can be added to pretty much any outfit and instantly bring the look over to the philosopher realm.

FIRE // CAT EYE SUNGLASSES

Whenever I'm feeling sassy, or like I need some extra attention, I reach for cat eye glasses. They look good on everyone, and definitely send the message that you're not to be ignored. The words that come to mind are: starlet and playful, two things any fire will feel right at home with.

EARTH // MARKET TOTE

What I love about earth accessories is that they always give off feelings of comfort, function, and nurture. A big tote like this is what you grab to pick up a few groceries for the fam, head to the farmers market on a Sunday, or pack up for a picnic. It welcomes it all like a warm hug, just like an earth would.

METAL // WHITE LEATHER

While each of the five elements have certain colors associated with them, the metal tie to white is such a strong partnership. It's pure yet icy at the same time. You don't often see white jewelry or shoes, but that's why I think it's the perfect way to add a pop of metal to any outfit. This particular necklace is made of white leather wrapped around metal, so it's nice and heavy. I can wear it over just about any outfit and it instantly brings a strong metal statement to my look.
