Wow. I am so taken aback/touched/relieved by the response to last week's post about my new plan to get healthy and fit. So many of you left such thoughtful comments and I am overwhelmed by the amount of support and encouragement you poured out. You guuuyyyss! Thank you!! Mostly, I'm thrilled that so many of you have been or are in the same boat. It makes me feel like we're all in this together. Different things work for different people and I love hearing your tips about what has worked for you. I am looking forward to sharing more details with you guys about this process, such as the fact that I had a difficult weekend as far as the diet part. There was a quesadilla situation and a coffee situation. Yeah. The weekends are the hardest! But here's the best part... on Saturday I discovered that I've lost 3 lbs so far! What a relief because the other times I weighed myself in the first two weeks, either nothing had happened, or the number had gone UP. Yikes. So I'm happy to know that this whole crazy plan is starting to work, even just a little tiny bit. It motivates me for the weeks to come, and helps me panic less that I committed this plan to the extent of putting it on the internet. That's not to say that it's not hard. When the novelty of a new routine wears off after a week or so, that's when the real drive has to come out or it will never work. I'm trying to keep that drive up as much as I can right now. Mostly though I'm having fun and I'm feeling really good. My muscles are always sore, which I love. Two new things I'm working on this week: 1. Drinking LOTS more water, and 2. Try to eat earlier dinners (this 9pm routine isn't such a good thing). One step at a time!
Today I thought it would be fun to share my wish list of trends I'd like to be able to rock after losing some weight. These are looks I keep at least a mile radius from right now, but would love to be able to pull off in the future. Some of them seem pretty easy to wear, but they're surprisingly not. A peplum for example, accentuates the hip and thigh region - a part that I definitely don't want to draw attention to right now! Nope. Shorts are a big one for me. While there are shorts I can wear, if they don't have a pretty oversized fit, the always tend to shift around and ride up on me. I REALLY want to be able to rock short shorts confidently.
What are some of your skinny trend goals? These things make me want to squeeze in an extra pilates class, that's for sure!
