East vs. West - The Life Styled - Photo by Ian SheppardI can't quite figure out if I'm officially an Angeleno after five years of living in LA. I still think of myself as a New Yorker, I suppose because I lived there for twice as long as I've lived here so far. Well that and because I can conquer the NY subway system with my eyes closed but I still need GPS to get around LA. Whenever I go back to New York, I feel right at home, as if a piece of me still lives there. I'm already counting down the days until December when we'll get to spend a few days in the city before heading to Ian's parents' house in New Jersey for Christmas (yay!). What I DO know is that I'm a big city girl. Period. That I've known since I was in high school, dreaming of leaving my safe and charming little farm town to see what the world had to offer. This outfit made me feel like a badass. I can't stop wearing this varsity jacket from Forever21 (which is actually very good quality and sufficiently warm for cold fall nights), and the NY/LA black and gold tee that I could rock on Broadway or Sunset. Balance the trendy pieces with some laid back, long lived staples such as a good pair of Rag & Bone jeans and your favorite black clutch, and you're in the clear of looking a little too trend happy - in whatever city has your heart.
