20131006-IMG_6611-EditEven though I try really hard to incorporate color into my wardrobe (this isn't New York, after all), I'm most comfortable in black. A lot of it. Whenever I'm making a purchase (especially a splurge), I always push past the other color options and opt for black in pretty much every instance. It's the most flattering, classic, and best for my features. Sure my closet might feel a bit repetitive, but it's important to know what works best for you. Once you've got a vast collection of staple items in your best neutral shade, then it's safe to expand to new territories. But for me, I'm not done buying black for the base of my wardrobe. This outfit is comprised of one investment piece (the hat) and the rest were more wallet friendly options from Zara and Forever21. Even though this dress wasn't super pricey, I know I'll still get a lot of use out of it for a few years to come. This was a more dressed down way to wear it, but come the holidays I'm going to Audrey it up with an updo, sparkly necklace, deep red lip, and ladylike heels, or winterize it with tights and black booties.20131006-IMG_6728-Edit
