20130725-IMG_4436Minnesota gets a bad rap for being one of those states in middle America that's all boring, flat, and cold, but as I've mentioned a few times before, I think it's actually one of the most beautiful places in the country. Today I'm sharing the final installment of our little series of shoots from a recent trip there, and I'm already contemplating another trip back. I always feel so relaxed when I have a chance to drive through the country roads that surround my little home town and daydream about a simpler rural life. Even though that's not a life I could actually live without going crazy in reality, there's something so intriguing about the idea of flipping your world on its back and doing something entirely different. The closest I can get to that are the times we get to spend about once a year hanging on our dear friends' farm when they host a mini music festival, and we all gather to listen to live tunes, enjoy an impressive spread of local meats and produce, ending the night around the fire under a breathtakingly clear sky (Milky Way and all). This outfit felt classically appropriate for the environment with some key elements of farm garb, but with a few added touches of a slightly urban edge (gotta have it), like bleach washed denim, studded high tops, and a chunky chain. The farm girl side of me may only be a small piece of the pie, but I welcome an opportunity to let her come out from time to time.
